City of Boulder searching for next Library and Arts Director

The City of Boulder is searching for Boulder’s next Library and Arts Director.  The position was vacated in September 2013, when former director Valerie Maginnis retired after 33 years of public service.

A search firm who specializes in executive searches for libraries, Missouri-based Bradbury Associates/Gossage Sager Associates, is assisting the city in conducting this search.  The search firm met with library staff, the Library and Arts commissions, the Library Foundation, city leadership, former library directors, and the public to ensure the selection process reflects the priorities of the community.

“Our vision for the Boulder Public Library is to find the most qualified director who can lead our library and arts programs,” said City Manager Jane Brautigam. “Boulder Public Library is a centerpiece of the community as an institution and public gathering place. It deserves a leader who understands our community values and who can build on the successes of its previous directors.”
